crosswalk is proud to announce, 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨, a solo by Mike Saechao, “Bird Mike”. 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 serves as Saechao’s debut Chicago solo exhibition. In 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨, Saechao, dives into a limerence state by abstracting the everyday, transforming the common object into a project for emotional exploration. Through the intricate patterns of a beloved couch, Saechao uncovers a cathartic release, weaving personal narratives within the fabric’s design. This collection of work serves as a reflection on the complexities of interpersonal connections, manifesting as journals of healing. Saechao states this body of work is the start of its unveiling, “Though healing isn’t linear, this feels like a step in the right direction.” Saechao hails from Sacramento, California, currently residing in Chicago. Saechao graduated with a BFA in Studio Art, specializing in Painting and Drawing, from California State University-Sacramento in 2023.
